Calgary Motorsports Company Making Scooters Safe, Fun & Socially Responsible

All Season Motorsports in Calgary Alberta has teamed up with Ed Kang, creator of My Perfect Economy to launch a unique program that combines the scooter community as a social enterprise to support humanitarian projects around the world.

THE MISSION: Build a socially responsible community of new and experienced scooter riders across Canada to spread our passion for riding and change the world at the same time!

This site was started by Ed Kang after being recently introduced to the joy of scooter riding for the first time. It was so much fun, he decided to combine his new found passion with his other passions for social responsibility and humanitarian projects around the world. Ed convinced some businesses and industry sponsors to participate in demonstrating how scooters can rescue lives.

THE CHALLENGE: Sponsors have agreed to provide discounts on scooters and gear and for every sale, a portion of proceeds will go towards providing scooters and bikes to humanitarian aid teams in developing countries.

In developing countries like India, Nicaragua and other regions of Africa, there are no nicely paved roads like we have here. Reaching villages and poverty areas like garbage dumps is very difficult with four wheeled vehicles. Plus gas and cost of maintenance becomes a factor.

One scooter, moped, dirt bike or even bicycle allows a trained individual to reach and serve to the needs of people and effectively reach substantially more communities than by foot. For example, a nurse can respond to up to five times more medical cases in a day which means less people have to be sick and perish because of lack of infrastructure.

The site is designed to keep track of progress and open up discussion for the scooter community. Ed Kang and others will be blogging about their experience and All Season Motorsports will also be sending scooter riders to the countries they are trying to help.
