What is Creative Capital?

In his keynote speech at the 2008 World Economic Forum, Bill Gates introduced the concept of “Creative Capitalism.”

According to Gates, Creative Capitalism is “an approach where governments, businesses and nonprofits work together to stretch the reach of market forces so that more people can make a profit, or gain recognition, doing work that eases the world’s inequities.”

This speech served as a catalyst that has since resulted in widespread interest and intense analysis amongst the top financial, cultural and community leaders throughout the world. Like many others, Gate’s idea of Creative Capitalism challenged our company. Based on this concept, we have created a revolutionary strategic "philanthro-capitalist" information portal called "My Perfect Economy" (MYPE). MYPE is a systematic methodology to connect what we call "Creative Capital". Let us explain.

Creative Capital is the resources available to each and every one of us as we strive daily to provide for our families, build our legacy and enjoy our lives. If the current economic meltdown is teaching us anything, it’s that cash money is not the only type of useful capital available to us in our quest to reach our maximum potential, while also making a positive impact in the world.

Most people are having to get pretty creative in these tough economic times – and as they say, necessity is the mother of all invention. What many are realizing is that there are other forms of capital available to be leveraged to achieve their goals, while also making a substantive difference in bettering the world.

Besides money, we have identified 4 types of Creative Capital. They are:

  1. Financial Capital (smart money)
  2. Intellectual Capital (big ideas)
  3. Human Capital (great people)
  4. Social Capital (purpose & passion)

So we asked the question: Why has our culture only leveraged one quarter of the Creative Capital available to each and every one of us? The truth is, each form of capital can be invested in, leveraged, and commoditized to make a real difference in our lives and the lives of others.

This is what My Perfect Economy is all about.
