On March 25, 2009, when Melissa Casey, Calgary freelance photographer and entrepreneur, got on a plane for her first humanitarian aid project in Nicaragua, she never really imagined how much her life would drastically change.
Working with her business mentors, she was challenged to capture images of "Social Injustice & Compassion" while participating in feeding centres and medical clinics. It was amidst the poverty that she found her passion to combine her trade as a photographer and a greater cause. Since Nicaragua, Melissa has already been to the Philippines and plans many more trips.
Mirrored Image is the corporate identity and photography studio of Melissa Casey. Mirrored Image seeks to “Reflect the world through a fresh photographic lens of purpose and passion.” Melissa has dedicated her company as a social enterprise that fully adopts the My Perfect Economy philosophy of business.
Mirrored Image provides commercial and portrait photography to clients between Melissa’s humanitarian work around the world where she captures images that reflect our collective desire to make a difference. Melissa then uses the sales of her photographs and services to raise funds and awareness for sustainability projects locally and worldwide.
